Papaya Relish - Plastic Chutney A wonderful, sweet and a lightly spiced chutney of raw papaya. Makes for an interesting accompaniment or spread it on bread slices and enjoy. By Sanjeev Kapoor 22 Oct 2024 in Recipes Pickle Jams Chutneys New Update Main ingredients Raw papaya, Sugar, Onion seeds, Fennel seeds, Red chilli flakes, Salt Cuisine Indian Course Pickles Jams Chutneys Prep time 25-30 minutes Cook time 15-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 2 cups grated raw papaya ¾ cup sugar A small pinch of onion seeds (kalonji) A large pinch of fennel seeds (saunf) A small pinch of red chilli flakes A pinch of salt Method Heat a non-stick pan, add papaya and sugar, mix well and cook till the mixture turns translucent. Add ¼ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or till soft. Add onion seeds, fennel seeds, red chilli flakes and salt, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool completely.
