Turnip Fries Devouring French fries are favourite pastime with a lot of people especially the children. But now we bring you a healthier version of fries where the potato is replaced with turnips. So move on regular fries! These are not even deep fried but air fried till crisp and tasty! By Sanjeev Kapoor 09 Aug 2024 in Recipes Snacks and Starters New Update Turnip Fries Main ingredients Turnips (shalgham), Olive oil, Red chilli flakes, Dried mixed herbs, Salt, Garlic powder, Onion powder, Dried mango powder (amchur), Greek yogurt Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and starters Prep time 10-15 minutes Cook time 20-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Savoury Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 3-4 turnips (shalgham) Olive oil for drizzling Greek yogurt to serve Spice mix ½ teaspoon red chilli flakes ½ teaspoon dried mixed herbs Salt to taste ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon dried mango powder (amchur) Method Preheat the air-fryer to 180º C. Peel and cut the turnips into 2 inch thick strips. Transfer the turnip strips into the air fryer basket, drizzle some olive oil and place it in the preheated air fryer and cook for 20-25 minutes or till done. To make the spice mix, put red chilli flakes in a mortar along with dried mixed herbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and dried mango powder and crush the mixture with a pestle. Remove the turnip fries and transfer into a bowl. Sprinkle some of the spice mix and toss well.
