By Sanjeev Kapoor 04 Oct 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Potatoes, Yogurt Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Aloo Dahiwale 4 medium Potatoes boiled, peeled and cut into ½-inch cubes 4 tablespoons Yogurt whisked to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds a pinch Asafoetida 3 Green chillies broken into three pieces a pinch Sugar 1 tablespoon Lemon juice 4 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Put potatoes in a bowl, add salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well. Set aside for four to five minutes. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add asafoetida and green chillies and sauté for one minute. Add potatoes and mix. Add two cups of water and mix. Add sugar, salt and lemon juice and mix. Cover and simmer for five to six minutes. Set aside to cool slightly. Add yogurt and mix.
