Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Aloo Paneer Rolls Recipe

  • Potatoes peeled and mashed 2 large

  • Cottage cheese grated 200 grams

  • Raisins 1 tablespoons

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Dried red chillies crushed 1/2 tablespoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 3-4

  • Fresh coriander leaves,finely chopped 4 tablespoons

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Refined flour (maida) 4 tablespoons

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Bread crumbs 1 cup


Step 1

Soak raisins in warm water for some time before use. Heat one tablespoon oil in a non stick frying pan and sauté onion till translucent.

Step 2

Mix together paneer, potatoes, crushed red chillies, fried onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, garam masala powder, salt and raisins. Shape into cylindrical croquettes. Add a little salt to the refined flour and roll the croquettes in it.

Step 3

Dip in the milk and roll in the breadcrumbs. Keep the aloo paneer croquettes in the refrigerator for an hour or more. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the rolls till golden brown and drain on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with coriander and mint chutney.
