Baath

Semolina mixed with ground coconut, egg, sugar, flavoured with rose water and baked. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Baath

  • 2 1/2 cups Semolina
  • 2 Coconut grated grated 2 nos
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 6 Egg Whole
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder

Method

  1. Scrape the coconut and grind into a fine paste. Cream butter and sugar together till fluffy. Break one egg at a time in a separate bowl. Add to the butter mixture and stir to blend well. Add the semolina gradually and blend well.
  2. Add the coconut paste and baking powder and mix. Add a little milk if the dough is too stiff. Cover and set aside for at least twelve hours. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease some baking trays.
  3. Divide the mixture into sixteen equal sized balls and press them slightly. Place these balls on the greased trays and bake till done and the top nicely browned.
