You can’t eat breakfast at night or dinner in the afternoon – but snacks? that you can eat anytime of the day! Along with tea, after school or at a birthday party – snacks are every foodie’s ultimate favourite. Healthy snacking is the best way to satisfy your munchies without the worry of to many added calories.

Ingredients for Bajra Crackers - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Peral millate (Bajra) flour 1 1/2 cups

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/4 teaspoon

  • Sesame seed black and white 2 teaspoons

  • Carom seeds (Ajwine) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Tata Sampann Chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons +2 tablespoons


Step 1

Take pearl millet flour in a large bowl, add crushed black peppercorns, white and black sesame seeds, carom seeds, chopped coriander, salt and Tata Sampann Chilli Powder.

Step 2

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a pan and pour the hot oil into the pearl millet flour mixture and mix well. Add ¾ cup water and knead to a soft dough.

Step 3

Add remaining oil and knead well. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the oven at 180˚C.

Step 5

Divide the dough into two portions, shape each into a ball.

Step 6

To make the crackers, take a parchment sheet and place a dough ball on it and cover with another sheet of parchment and roll the dough into a semi-thick sheet. Cut out roundels using a cookie cutter and place them on a baking tray.

Step 7

Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, remove the baking tray out of the oven and flip each cracker and put the baking tray back in the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes more.

Step 8

Take the baking tray out the oven and allow the crackers to cool to room temperature, transfer the crackers into an air-tight container or serve as required.
