Mithais are desserts that are unique to India. Mostly made with rich ingredients like milk, dried fruit, sugar and clarified butter each region in India has its own unique range of colourful decadent sweets that never fail to impress. A slight hint of green cardamom powder gives most of these a beautiful aroma and taste that has always been associated with mithais.

Ingredients for Baked Mishti Doi - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Yogurt 1 cup

  • Condensed milk 1/4 cup

  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

  • Nolen gur melted 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Step 2

Whisk together yogurt and condensed milk in a bowl. Add cream and whisk. Add nolen gur and whisk again.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into individual earthenware bowls and cover with aluminium foil.

Step 4

Place the bowls in a water bath, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.

Step 5

Remove from oven, cool down to room temperature and refrigerate to chill.
