Ingredients
- 1½ cups refined flour
- ½ cup Whole wheat flour
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil +to grease
- ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
Method
- Preheat the oven at 180˚C. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
- Take refined flour, whole wheat flour, salt and carom seeds in a parat. Add the hot oil and sufficient water and knead to a stiff dough.
- Divide the dough into equal medium-sized portions. Grease the worktop with a little oil, place a portion of dough and roll out into a thin sheet. Cut the sheet into long strips vertically. Further make horizontal cuts on the sheet to make small squares. Similarly, make more squares with the remaining dough portions.
- Transfer the small squares to a baking tray. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Bring the tray out of the oven and cool down to room temperature.
- Serve or store in an airtight container.
