By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Mar 2016 in Recipes Course New Update " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Advertisment Main Ingredients Buttermilk, Onion Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Buttermilk Onion Rings 1 cup Buttermilk 4 large Onion 3 Refined flour (maida) a pinch Baking soda (soda bicarbonate) to taste Salt to cook Crushed black peppercorns 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme chopped 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley chopped for deep-frying Oil Chaat masala for sprinkling Advertisment Method Mix refined flour, cornflour, baking soda, salt and crushed peppercorns in a bowl. Add buttermilk and whisk well to form a smooth thick batter. Add thyme and parsley and mix well. Cut onions into one centimeter thick slices and separate into rings. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip few onion rings at a time in the batter, slide into hot oil, and deep-fry in hot oil till light golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Sprinkle chaat masala on top and serve hot.
