Spanish cuisine is the result of a great variety of cooking cultures that have been living together in Spain.  The different climates and ways of life of each region to have played their role.  Some of the main ingredients that make up Spanish food are vegetables, meat and fish. 
Over the centuries Spain has been invaded by Romans, French, Moors, Phoenicians who introduced new cooking styles and ingredients in the Spanish cuisine, but the Spanish food is also influenced by other cultures. Spaniards were the main colonizers of America, Columbus was Spanish!  
The discovery of the New World brought new essential ingredients to the Mediterranean gastronomy like tomato, potato, chocolate that are now commonly used in a lot of Spanish dishes.

Ingredients for CREOLE FISH FINGERS - skk Recipe

  • Fish fillets cut into thick strips 300 grams

  • Onion powder 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic powder 1 tablespoon

  • Dried basil powder 1 tablespoon

  • Dried oregano 1 tablespoon

  • Dried thyme 1/2 tablespoon

  • Ginger paste 1/2 tablespoon

  • Paprika powder 1/2 tablespoon

  • White pepper powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Refined flour (maida) 1/2 cup

  • Egg beaten 1

  • Dried breadcrumbs 1 cup

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Take fish strips in a mixing bowl, add onion powder, garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, dried thyme, ginger paste, paprika powder, white pepper powder, salt and lemon juice and mix well.

Step 2

Spread refined flour and breadcrumbs in different plate and take beaten egg mixture in a bowl.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan. Roll each fish strip in refined flour, dip in egg and roll in breadcrumbs and keep on a plate.

Step 4

Slide in the fish strips into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
