Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Whichever form, this is one food that is loved by one and all!

Ingredients for Cheese and Herb French Toast Recipe

  • Processed cheese grated ¼ cup

  • Eggs 4

  • Fresh parsley 2-3

  • White bread slices 8

  • Salt to taste

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Oil to shallow fry

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Using a round cookie cutter, cut out discs from the bread slices.

Step 2

Break eggs in a bowl. Add cheese, salt and crushed peppercorns.

Step 3

Chop parsley and add to the bowl. Mix well.

Step 4

Heat some oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 5

Dip the bread discs in the egg mixture, place on the pan and shallow-fry till golden from both the sides.

Step 6

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
