Ingredients list for Cheesy Corny Spinach Balls
- 2 cups Processed Cheese grated
- 1 cup Spinach Leaves boiled
- 8-10 Spinach leaves (palak) shredded
- to deep fry Oil
- 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch
- 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 1 1/2 inch piece Ginger finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
- a pinch Baking soda
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 4 tablespoons Bread crumbs
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Grind corn coarsely and transfer into a bowl. Add cheese, spinach, cornflour, refined flour, ginger, crushed black peppercorns, salt, lemon juice, baking soda, green chillies, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and coriander leaves and mix well. Add a little water and mix into a dough.
- Spread the breadcrumbs on a plate.Grease your palms, take small portions of the dough and shape into marble sized round balls. Roll them in breadcrumbs till they are well coated.
- Slide the balls, a few at a time, into the hot oil and deep-fry on medium heat, stirring gently, till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
