Ingredients for Chilled Melon Ball Salad Recipe

  • Watermelon 1/4

  • Muskmelon 1 medium

  • For dressing :

  • Fresh orange juice 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black salt (kala namak) to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 3-4

  • Lemon juice 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Fresh mint leaves torn 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Using a Parisienne scoop (melon baller) scoop out small balls from the watermelon. Discard all seeds. Cut the muskmelon in half.

Step 2

Scoop out small balls from the centre, leaving a thick shell. Discard all the seeds. Put the melon balls in a bowl and place it in a refrigerator to chill thoroughly.

Step 3

To make the dressing, take fresh orange juice in a bowl. Add salt, black salt, black peppercorn and lemon juice. Mix well. Add mint leaves and mix well. Place the melon balls in a serving bowl.

Step 4

Pour the dressing over and serve immediately.
