History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Chocolate Ganpati Recipe

  • Dark chocolate Melted 500 grams

  • Corn syrup 3 tablespoons

  • edible dust colourful as required

Method

Step 1

Add corn syrup to melted chocolate and mix well till the chocolate comes together and becomes like a dough. Set aside to rest for 1 hour.

Step 2

Divide the chocolate into various portions and shape them into different parts of Ganpati – body, feet, stomach, head with the trunk, ears, mukut and the hands. Bring together the full idol by sticking the different parts with the help of hot water. Refrigerate till fully set.

Step 3

Dip a carving knife in warm water and start carving the idol to finish. Keep dipping the knife and brush off the excess chocolate and use hot water to retain the shapes.

Step 4

Dust the idol with edible colourful dusts. Decorate with a flower and chocolate mango modak.

Step 5

Use as required.
