Ingredients for Christmas Chocolate Walnut Brownie with Hot Fudge Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 100 grams + for dusting

  • Butter 60 grams + for greasing

  • Cocoa powder 1 tablespoon

  • Walnuts chopped 50 grams

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Baking soda ¼ teaspoon

  • Condensed milk 130 grams

  • Milk 100 millilitres

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Chocolate sprinklers 30 grams

  • brown sugar/jaggery 2 tablespoons

  • For fudge sauce -

  • Cocoa powder 20 grams

  • Icing sugar 150 grams

  • Butter 50 grams

  • Vanilla essence ½ teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease an ovenproof dish with little butter and dust with a little flour.

Step 2

Sieve together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda into a bowl.

Step 3

Cream together butter and condensed milk in another bowl with a hand blender.

Step 4

Add sieved ingredients and mix well. Add milk and vanilla essence and mix well. Blend again with the blender into a smooth mixture.

Step 5

Add chocolate sprinklers, brown sugar and walnuts reserving some for garnishing. Mix well.

Step 6

Transfer mixture into greased dish, sprinkle reserved walnuts on top and put in preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.

Step 7

To make the sauce, heat butter, icing sugar and cocoa powder in a non-stick pan. Mix well till the ingredients melt. Switch off heat and add vanilla essence. Mix well and set aside.

Step 8

Demould brownie, cut into slices and serve with warm fudge sauce.
