Ingredients list for Corn Waffles

  • 1 1/4 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 3/4 cup Cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup Fresh corn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • for greasing Oil
  • for garnish Butter

Method

  1. Preheat the waffle iron.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix cornmeal, refined flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and corn kernels.
  3. Add egg and mix well.
  4. Add sufficient milk to make a semi-thick batter. Avoid adding all the milk together.
  5. Grease the waffle iron with oil, pour the batter, cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, remove onto a serving plate, top up with a dollop of butter and serve immediately.
