Ingredients list for Cream Cheese Pound Cake

  • 225 grams Cream cheese at room temperature
  • 3 cups+ fo Refined flour (maida)
  • 1½ cups + Butter at room temperature
  • 3 cups Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a baking tin with some butter and dust with some flour.
  2. Cream together butter and cream cheese till smooth and light. Add castor sugar and beat till fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
  4. Add flour and salt and fold in till well combined to make a smooth batter.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared tin and tap lightly. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for sixty to seventy-five minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, cool and remove the cake from the tin.
  7. Cut into wedges and serve.
