Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Crispy Mustard Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken breasts cut into 2 inch pieces 2

  • Mustard paste kasundi 2-3 tablespoons

  • Butter ¼ cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped, 1 tablespoon + for garnishing

  • Salt to taste

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Paprika 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes ½ teaspoon

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Lemon 1

  • Eggs 2

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Fresh bread crumbs 1 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat butter in a non-stick pan and cook till it browns. Add kasundi mustard mix and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 2

Add coriander leaves and mix. Add salt, mix and cook for 30 seconds. This is mustard sauce.

Step 3

Take chicken in a bowl. Add salt, ginger-garlic paste, paprika, chili flakes, crushed peppercorns and lemon juice and mix. Add 1 tablespoon mustard sauce and mix well.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a pan.

Step 5

Beat eggs in another bowl. Spread breadcrumbs on a plate.

Step 6

Coat each marinated chicken piece with bread crumbs. Dip in beaten egg and coat with bread crumbs again.

Step 7

Deep-fry the chicken pieces in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 8

Place fried chicken pieces on a serving platter, drizzle remaining mustard sauce on top and garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 9

Serve hot.
