Dal and Oats Soup This hearty soup combines the earthy flavors of lentils with the comforting texture of oats, enhanced by aromatic spices and savory ingredients. By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Nov 2016 in Recipes Veg New Update Dal and Oats Soup Main Ingredients Oats, Leftover yellow dal tadka Cuisine Indian Fusion Course Soups Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 15-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredient 2 cups leftover yellow dal tadka ½ cup oats 1 tablespoon oil ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped 1 green chilli, chopped Pinch of turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon crushed black pepper Juice of ½ lemon Salt to taste 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves 1 fresh red chilli flower 1 fresh mint sprig Method Heat oil a non-stick wok, add cumin seeds and saute till the colour changes. Add garlic and sauté till it turns light brown in colour. Add green chilli and sauté for 15 secs. Add oats, 1 cup water and mix well. Add turmeric powder, crushed black pepper, lemon juice and salt and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes or till oats are fully cooked. Add leftover yellow dal tadka, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot garnished with red chilli flower and mint sprig.
