Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Whichever form, this is one food that is loved by one and all!

Ingredients for Dippy Sticks Recipe

  • Cheese Spread 3/4 cup

  • Milk

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 teaspoon

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Onion chopped 1/2 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oregano 1/4 teaspoon

  • To Serve

  • Carrots cut into fingers 2 medium

  • Cucumbers cut into fingers 2 medium

  • Bread Sticks cut into 2 inch pieces 2

Method

Step 1

Mix the cornflour in one tablespoon of cold milk.

Step 2

Heat the butter in a non-stick pan, add the onion and sauté for two minutes or till translucent.

Step 3

Add the remaining milk, cheese spread, cornflour mixture and salt and mix well. Bring it to a boil stirring continuously till smooth and thick.

Step 4

Sprinkle the red chilli powder and oregano and mix.

Step 5

Serve the vegetable fingers and bread sticks with the cheesy dip immediately.
