Ingredients list for Dudhi Kadamb
- 1 cup Rice
 - 2 cups Red pumpkin
 - 1/4 cup Coconut scraped
 - 1/4 cup Jaggery (gur) grated
 - to taste Salt
 - 4 Tender banana leaves or turmeric leaves
 - 4 teaspoons Pure ghee
 
Method
- Wash rice and drain completely. Spread on a cloth and let it dry. When it is completely dry grind to a coarse powder. Mix together rice powder, grated red pumpkin, scraped coconut, jaggery, salt well.
 - Cover and let it stand for about an hour. Divide into eight equal portions. Cut each banana leaf or tamarind leaf into two pieces.
 - Wrap each portion of pumpkin mixture in the banana leaf and secure with a string. Steam-cook in a steamer till done. This may take fifteen to twenty minutes. Serve hot drizzled with pure ghee.
