You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Egg Chilli Toast - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Eggs boiled, peeled and roughly chopped 2-3

  • Egg white 1

  • White bread slices 4

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2-3 tablespoons

  • Milk 2 tablespoons

  • Butter as required


Step 1

Take eggs in a mixing bowl, add mozzarella cheese, chilli powder, chilli flakes, green chillies, salt, egg white, coriander leaves and milk and mix well mashing the eggs lightly.

Step 2

Spread the mixture on bread slices.

Step 3

Heat some butter in a non-stick pan. Place the bread slices in it, one at a time, cover and cook till the cheese melts. Brush some butter on top.

Step 4

Cut into triangles, arrange on a serving platter and serve immediately.
