The cuisine of The United States is a rich amalgamation of peoples, religions and cultures thanks to the immigrants from different parts of the world.  They brought with them their local ingredients as well as cooking styles with them.  Yet amidst all these varieties Chinese and Italian cuisines dominate.  
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Fudge Brownie Sundae Recipe

  • Dark chocolate 100 grams

  • Vanilla ice cream 4 scoops

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Walnut kernels 1/2 cup

  • Butter 90 grams

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 cup

  • Eggs 2 cup

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Oil for greasing

  • Refined flour (maida) 1

  • Chocolate sauce 4 tablespoons

  • Chocolate chips 30 grams


Step 1

Sift flour and baking powder and keep aside. Chop walnuts.

Step 2

Grease a round microwave dish and line it with butter paper.

Step 3

Combine chocolate and butter in a large microwave bowl and soften, uncovered, on Microwave HIGH (100%) for one minute. Beat in caster sugar, eggs and vanilla essence and blend well.

Step 4

Add the sifted flour and nuts and mix well. Pour the mixture into a greased bowl.

Step 5

Place the bowl on an upturned saucer and cook, uncovered, on Microwave HIGH (100%) for seven minutes. Allow standing time of five minutes.

Step 6

Insert a skewer, if it comes out clean it is done. If not cook, uncovered, on Microwave MEDIUM (60%) for two more minutes.

Step 7

Place on wire rack to cool. Cut into squares.

Step 8

In serving glasses, place the brownie pieces, top with a scoop of ice cream followed by chocolate sauce.

Step 9

Sprinkle chocolate chips and serve immediately.
