Ingredients list for Gajar Aur Khajur Ka Halwa

  • 8-10 medium Carrots grated
  • 3/4 cup Dates seeded and chopped
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 cup Skimmed milk
  • 1/2 cup Khoya/mawa
  • 8-10 Cashewnuts chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 8-10 Almonds, blanched and slivered

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a kadai (wok). Add grated carrots and sugar and cook for about five minutes.
  2. Add milk and continue to cook for six to eight minutes.
  3. Add khoya (reduced milk), dates, cashewnuts and green cardamom powder and mix.
  4. Cook for ten to fifteen minutes or till almost dry. Serve hot garnished with almond slivers.
