This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 28 Jul 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Carrots, Milk Cuisine Uttar Pradesh Course Desserts Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Gajrela 1 large Carrots grated 1 tablespoon Milk 1 tablespoon Raisins 8-10 Cashewnuts, roughly chopped 1 litre Milk 4 tablespoons Rice soaked and drained 4 tablespoons Khoya/mawa 1/4 cup Sugar 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder Method Heat ghee in a Nirlep non stick pan, add raisins, cashewnuts and sauté till light brown. Add carrot and mix. Add milk and cook for 15-20 minutes. Coarsely grind the soaked rice.Add khoya, sugar and green cardamom powder to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes.Add the ground rice little by little, stirring continuously. Cook stirring continuously till the gajrela thickens. Take the pan off the heat, let the gajrela cool down to room temperature, then set in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Serve chilled.
