Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Grated Potato Snack Recipe

  • Potatoes grated coarsely 2 large

  • Peanuts crushed 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh red chillies finely chopped 3

  • Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1/2 teaspoon

  • Lemon 1

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add potatoes and saute for two to three minutes. Remove from heat and transfer into a bowl.

Step 2

Add red chillies, coriande rleaves, peanuts, cumin seeds, sugar, lemon juice and salt. Mix well amd transfer back into the pan.

Step 3

Cook till the potatoes are soft.

Step 4

Serve hot with coconut chutney.
