Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Guava Kheer Recipe

  • Guava quartered and pressure cooked upto 4-5 whistles 2 large

  • Ghee 1 tablespoon

  • Pistachios chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Raisins 1 tablespoon

  • Few strands of saffron

  • Milk 3 cups


Step 1

Cool the cooked guavas and puree them.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a non-stick wok, add almonds, pistachios and raisins and sauté for a minute.

Step 3

Grate 1 guava into the wok and sauté for 5-7 minutes. Add guava purée and mix well.

Step 4

Add saffron and milk and mix. Cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving bowl, cool and serve.
