By Sanjeev Kapoor 13 Apr 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Cracked Wheat, Basmati Rice Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 31-40 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Jain Gehu Ki Khichdi 1 cup Cracked Wheat 1/4 cup Basmati Rice 1/4 cup Split green gram with skin (chilkewali moong dal) 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds a pinch Asafoetida 5 tablespoons Pure ghee 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped to taste Salt Method Wash and soak the wheat, green gram split and rice separately for half an hour. Drain and mix. Heat three tablespoons of ghee, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add the drained grains and sauté for three to four minutes. Add five cups of water, salt and pressure cook till two whistles. Lower the heat and cook for another five minutes. Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves and the remaining ghee.
