Khasta Aloo Chaat

Ingredients list for Khasta Aloo Chaat

  • 4 medium Potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • as required Yogurt
  • as required Green chutney
  • as required Date and tamarind chutney
  • as required Red chilli-garlic chutney
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala
  • as required Sev
  • to sprinkle Red chilli powder
  • for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Combine potatoes, salt and cornflour in a bowl and mix.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.
  4. Deep-fry tikkis in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Place tikkis in individual serving platters and break them with a fork. Drizzle some yogurt, green chutney and date-tamarind chutney on top.
  6. Put some red chilli-garlic chutney and sprinkle some chaat masala on top. Put some sev and sprinkle some chilli powder on top.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with coriander leaves.
