Ingredients list for Khatti Kheer (redu)

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 2 medium Onion chopped
  • 1/2 inch piece Ginger chopped
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds and saute for a minute.
  2. Add garlic, onion, ginger and green chilli and saute till the onions get brown. Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add yogurt and mix well. Add rice and mix well. Serve it garnished with coriander leaves.
