Ingredients list for Lapsi Aur Gur Ka Halwa

  • 1 cup Broken Wheat
  • 2/3 cup Jaggery grated
  • 1 cup Pure ghee
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • a few drops Edible orange red colour
  • 5-6 Almonds blanched and slivered

Method

  1. Soak jaggery in one cup of water. Heat ghee in a kadai. Add lapsi and roast on low heat till brownish red in colour. Add two cups of water and cook on low heat till lapsi is soft.
  2. Mix in sugar. Add jaggery syrup and mix well. Keep on heat for one to two minutes, stirring continuously.Add green cardamom powder and colour as required. Serve hot garnished with slivered almonds.
