Ingredients list for Makhana Paratha

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 12-15 Makhane
  • 2 tablespoons Wheat bran
  • 4 medium Potatoes boiled peeled and grated
  • 2 Green chillies roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried pomegranate seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh coriander
  • to taste Salt
  • to shallow fry Oil

Method

  1. Grind makhane, green chillies, pomegranate seeds to a coarse powder.
  2. Combine the mixture in a bowl along with potatoes, coriander and salt in a bowl.
  3. Combine whole wheat flour, wheat bran and salt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead to a soft dough.
  4. Divide both the stuffing and dough into equal portions. Roll a portion of dough into ball and flatten.
  5. Roll into a thick parantha and stuff the potato filling. Seal the edges and roll into a thick parantha.
  6. Heat a non-stick tawa. Place the parantha and roast till golden. Drizzle oil and cook.
  7. Serve hot.
