Ingredients list for Malai Peda - SK Khazana

  • 1 litres Whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Castor sugar
  • a large pinch Citric acid
  • 2 teaspoons Cornflour
  • for garnish Almonds slivers
  • for garnish Pistachio slivers
  • for garnish Saffron strands

Method

  1. Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan. When it comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till it is reduced half its original volume.
  2. Add castor sugar, mix and bring to a boil.
  3. Mix citric acid in 2 tablespoons water, add, mix and cook till it curdles slightly.
  4. Mix cornflour in 2 tablespoons water, add, mix well and cook till the mixture thickens and resembles khoya. Remove from heat and cool.
  5. Divide the mixture into equal portions, shape into small balls and flatten into pedas.
  6. Garnish with almond slivers, pistachio slivers and saffron and serve.
