As these are a good source of fibre and potassium, which keeps all of our body cells functioning properly. Just when you thought that green peas are only used to add that extra punch to your savoury dishes, try a rich, creamy matar ki kheer to satiate your sweet buds too!

Ingredients for Matar Ke Cutlet Recipe

  • Green Peas 1 cup

  • Potato

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Ginger 1 inch piece

  • Green chillies 2

  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 tablespoon

  • Potatoes 5 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Egg 1

  • Bread crumbs 1 cup

  • Oil to shallow fry

Method

Step 1

Peel and chop the onion and ginger. Wash and chop green chillies. Clean, wash and chop the coriander leaves.

Step 2

Boil the potatoes and peas separately. Peel and grate the potatoes to mash properly. Mash the peas. Beat the egg. Mix mashed potatoes, mashed peas, chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, chopped coriander leaves and salt thoroughly to form a dough.

Step 3

Shape the dough into cutlets. Dip the cutlets in the egg and then roll it in the breadcrumbs. Heat oil and deep fry till golden brown. Serve hot.
