Ingredients list for Melting Moments

  • 1 1/4 cups Refined flour
  • 110 grams Butter
  • 1/2 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 Egg,beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups Corn flakes

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Grease a baking tray. Cream together butter and sugar well. Add egg and vanilla or almond essence and mix well.
  2. Sift flour with baking powder and add to the mixture. Mix to make a dough. Divide the dough into sixteen equal portions and roll them into balls.
  3. Spread the cornflakes on a sheet of greaseproof paper and roll the balls in them till they are all evenly coated. Place the balls on the baking tray keeping a little distance between each.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for fifteen to twenty minutes or until they turn a light brown. Take the tray out of the oven and set aside to cool slightly before transferring them onto a wire rack till completely cooled.
