Ingredients list for Merenda

  • 1 cup Green Gram
  • 1 cup Coconut scraped
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery (gur) grated
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Soak the moong overnight in two cups of water. Drain. Grease a flat plate. Take moong, grated coconut, grated jaggery, salt and one cup of water in a pan.
  2. Cook on low heat and simmer till all the ingredients are well mixed and the merenda is reduced to half its quantity. While cooking stir continuously to prevent it from burning.
  3. Pour the mixture into the greased plate and spread evenly. Cut into squares or diamonds and serve.
