By Sanjeev Kapoor 08 Jul 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Fenugreek leaves, split piegeon pea Cuisine Punjabi Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Methi Dal 1/2 cup Fenugreek leaves chopped 1 cup split piegeon pea boiled 2 tablespoons Oil 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 2 Clove a pinch Asafoetida 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated 2 Green chilli, crushed 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice to taste Salt Method Heat oil in a non stick pan, add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, cloves and asafoetida. Saute till brown. Add ginger and green chillies. Mix well. Add the fenugreek leaves and saute for five minutes. Add little water and cover and cook for few minutes till soft. Add turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt. Mix well. Add the boiled dal and mix well.
