Ingredients list for Mishti Doi
- 2 litres Milk
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 8-10 Seedless dates
- 1 tablespoon Yogurt
Method
- Boil milk in a deep non stick pan on low heat, stirring continuously, till it reduces to half.
- Add sugar and stir to dissolve it.
- Take the pan off the heat.
- Boil dates in ½ cup water till soft.
- Cool and puree.
- Transfer the milk into a large bowl and let it become lukewarm.
- Add date puree and mix well.
- Add homemade yogurt and mix well.
- Pour into individual earthenware bowls and keep in warm place to set.
- Take care not to shake the bowls.
- Once set you can chill in the refrigerator.
- Serve chilled.
