Ingredients list for Mocha Custard

  • 2-3 tablespoons Coffee decoction
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 1½ cups Milk
  • for garnishing Dark chocolate chips
  • for garnishing White chocolate chips
  • for garnishing White chocolate shavings

Method

  1. Place a glass bowl on a deep non-stick pan of boiling water. Add egg yolks and whisk. Add castor sugar, whisk and cook till it melts.
  2. Reduce heat, add vanilla essence and sift in cocoa powder and whisk. Add milk, whisk and cook till it thickens.
  3. Remove from heat, add coffee concoction and whisk.
  4. Strain the mixture into another bowl. Pour the mixture into individual cups. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
  5. Serve chilled garnished with mixed chocolate chips and white chocolate shavings.
