Ingredients for Orange Caramel Custard Recipe

  • Orange marmalade 1 tablespoon

  • Orange peeled and segments separated 1

  • Orange juice cooked till thick 2 cups

  • Eggs 4

  • Sugar 4 tablespoons

  • Cream 1/2 cup

  • Warm milk 2 cups

  • For caramel

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Cook ½ cup sugar with 2 tbsps water in a non-stick pan till it caramelizes.

Step 2

Put orange marmalade into a blender jar. Add half the orange segments and blend. Break eggs into a bowl and whisk. Add sugar and continue to whisk. Add cream and warm milk and whisk.

Step 3

Add orange marmalade-orange segments mixture, thickened orange juice and mix well. Place ramekin moulds in a deep baking dish half filled with water.

Step 4

Pour the caramel equally into each mould. Place a few orange segments in each mould. Pour the egg-milk mixture into the moulds till almost full and cook in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

Step 5

Take them out of the oven, cool and chill in the refrigerator before serving.
