Ingredients for Orange Custard Recipe

  • Orange Juice 2 cups

  • Egg Yolks 3 tablespoons

  • Orange segments for garnishing

  • Egg yolks 3

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 tablespoon

  • Gelatin 2 tablespoons

  • Warm water 1/4 cup

  • Whipped cream 2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat orange juice in a deep non stick pan. Put egg yolks in a bowl, add sugar and whisk till sugar dissolves. Add cornflour and mix well. Add gelatine to ¼ cup warm water and let it stand for a while. Add the warmed orange juice to the egg yolk mixture and mix well.

Step 2

Transfer it back to the pan and cook on low heat, stirring continuously, till it begins to thicken. Switch off the heat. Transfer the custard into a big bowl. Add orange marmalade, mix well and let it cool.

Step 3

You can keep it in the freezer for it to cool faster. Stir the gelatine till it dissolves completely and add to the custard. Add whipped cream and mix everything well. Pour into individual cups or bowls and keep them in a refrigerator to set. Garnish with orange segments and serve chilled.
