Treasure house of vitamins and minerals, spinach must be included in the week's menu. The usage can be varied: chopped spinach leaves cooked with potatoes is a semi-wet vegetable with rotis, a few spinach leaves thrown in with mixed vegetables and turned into a soup is lovely on a cold winter night, chopped and blanched spinach makes a different sort of raita, spinach puree can be used in cutlets or kababs, the list goes on.

Ingredients for Palak aur Strawberry Salad Recipe

  • Baby Spinach Leaves 15-20

  • Strawberries 10-12

  • Strawberry syrup 3 tablespoons

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon

  • Dried mango powder (amchur) 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard paste 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Walnuts halved + broken walnuts for garnishing 7-8


Step 1

Halve 6 strawberries and place them in a mixer jar. Add crushed black peppercorns, dried mango powder, strawberry syrup, mustard paste, lemon juice, oil and salt and blend together to make a dressing.

Step 2

Dry roast walnuts.

Step 3

Place spinach leaves in a bowl. Quarter the remaining strawberries and add to the bowl. Add walnut and dressing and mix well.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with broken walnuts and serve.
