Ingredients for Paneer Lollipops Recipe

  • Cottage cheese (paneer) grated 1 cup

  • Cabbage shredded 1/4 cup + to serve

  • Carrots finely chopped 1/3 cup

  • Medium potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed 2

  • Lemon juicew 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli paste 1 tablespoon

  • Cornflour 1 tablespoon

  • Breadsticks 10-12

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Batter

  • Refined flour 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Cornflour 1/2 cup

  • Red chilli paste 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Take cottage cheese in a bowl, add cabbage and carrots and mix well. Add potatoes and mix well.

Step 2

Add lemon juice, salt, crushed black peppercorns, ginger-garlic paste and red chilli paste and mix well.

Step 3

Add cornflour and mix. Divide the mixture into equal portions. Wrap each portion around a breadsticks and shape into a lollipop.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 5

Mix together refined flour, salt, crushed black peppercorns, cornflour, red chilli paste and sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth and semi thick batter.

Step 6

Dip the lollipops in the batter, slide them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 7

Make a bed of shredded cabbage on a serving platter, keep the lollipops on them, place a bowl of schezwan sauce in the middle and serve hot.
