Ingredients list for Pea Pulao

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Green Peas shelled
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Pick, wash and soak rice for twenty minutes. Drain. Peel and slice the onion. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and once it starts to crackle add onions.
  2. Fry till translucent. Add peas, sauté for two-three minutes. Add the rice. Pour two cups of water and salt. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover with lid, cook till all water is absorbed. Serve hot.
