British cuisine today has a variety that wipes off the image of grey boiled meat.   In London especially, one can not only experiment with the best of British, but the best of the world as there are many distinct ethnic cuisines to sample, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Greek restaurants are amongst the most popular.

Ingredients for Peach And Lemon Cake Recipe

  • Peaches canned 3

  • Yogurt sliced 2-3

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Vanilla sponge cake 1

  • Wafer biscuits as required

  • Sugar 6 tablespoons

  • Thick yogurt 1 1/2 cups

  • Pistachios,blanched, peeled and chopped 1/4 cup


Step 1

Cut cake according to the size of the cake tin. Slice a thin layer off the top of the cake.

Step 2

Place the cake in the cake tin and arrange the wafer biscuits along the side of the cake.

Step 3

Mix together 3 tbsps sugar, ½ cup water, lemon juice in a non stick pan and cook till the mixture comes to a boil.

Step 4

Puree the canned peaches with a hand blender.

Step 5

Mix together yogurt, puréed peaches, remaining sugar and pistachios in a bowl.

Step 6

Prick the cake with tooth pick and pour the prepared sugar syrup over it.

Step 7

Spread the yogurt mixture over it and arrange fresh peach slices in a circular manner.

Step 8

Chill the cake in the refrigerator for an hour. Remove from the cake tin mould, cut into slices and serve.
