The cuisine of The United States is a rich amalgamation of peoples, religions and cultures thanks to the immigrants from different parts of the world.  They brought with them their local ingredients as well as cooking styles with them.  Yet amidst all these varieties Chinese and Italian cuisines dominate.  
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Peach Pancake Recipe

  • Canned peaches halved 12-16

  • Eggs 2

  • Sugar 6 tablespoons

  • Cinnamon powder 2 pinches

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Butter for cooking + for serving

  • Soda bicarbonate a large pinch pieces

  • Honey for garnishing


Step 1

Break eggs into a bowl, add sugar, cinnamon powder, refined flour, milk and whisk well.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick pan. Place half the peach pieces in the pan, add 1 tsp butter and cook for half a minute.

Step 3

Add soda to the batter and mix well. Spread half the batter in the pan. Cover and cook on low heat.

Step 4

Flip the pancake, apply little butter and cook till the other side is golden. Spread sautéed peaches at one end and fold the other side over.

Step 5

Similarly cook another pancake.

Step 6

Transfer pancakes onto serving plates, apply some butter, place remaining peaches on them, drizzle some honey and serve hot.
