Ingredients for Pizza Tart-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 1/2 cups + for dusting

  • Fresh yeast 20 grams

  • Castor sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Milk powder 1 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 1 tablespo for greasing

  • Butter for brushi

  • Pizza sauce 4 tablespoons

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 6 tablespoons

  • Fresh basil leaves 8-12


Step 1

Mix together yeast, castor sugar and 1-2 tablespoons water in a small bowl. Set aside to activate.

Step 2

Mix together flour, milk powder, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add activated yeast and sufficient water and knead to a soft dough. Add oil and knead again.

Step 3

Grease a bowl with some oil, place dough in it, cover with a cling film and set aside to prove.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 180º C.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 4 equal portions, place on a dusted worktop and roll out into thin discs.

Step 6

Line individual tart moulds with the discs and discard the excess dough. Fill each of them with chickpeas and keep them on a baking tray.

Step 7

Put the tray in preheated oven and blind bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven, cool, discard the chickpeas and demould.

Step 8

Brush tart shells with some butter and spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce in each. Top each with 1½ tablespoons cheese and 2-3 basil leaves.

Step 9

Transfer them on a baking tray, put the tray in preheated oven and bake till the cheese melts.

Step 10

Serve hot.
