Ingredients list for Prawn Koliwada

  • 16-18 Prawns (medium) peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder roasted
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon Yogurt
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice

Method

  1. Make a thick batter with the gram flour, roasted cumin powder, chilli powder, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste, yogurt and two tablespoons of water.
  2. Marinate the prawns in the batter for half an hour. Heat the oil in a kadai and deep-fry the prawns till crisp on the outside. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot, sprinkled with chaat masala and lemon juice.
