Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Prawn On Toast Recipe

  • Medium prawns 25-30

  • White bread slices 8

  • Ginger 1 inch piece

  • Garlic 5-6 cloves

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves 2 tablespoons

  • Egg 1

  • White sesame seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Sesame seeds (black) 1 teaspoon

  • Oil to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Grind ginger, garlic, prawns, salt, coriander leaves and egg coarsely. Transfer into a bowl. Apply this mixture on all the bread slices. Cut each slices into 3 strips.

Step 2

Sprinkle white and black sesame seeds on top and press lightly so that they stick. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

You can also bake them in preheated oven at 220°C. Serve hot.
