Ingredients for Shankerpali Recipe

  • Whole Wheat Flour 1 1/2 cup

  • Refined flour 1 cup

  • Sugar 1/4 cup

  • Butter 4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry


Step 1

Mix atta, maida, sugar, butter and salt with a little water and knead into a soft dough. Keep it covered with a damp cloth for half an hour. Divide the dough into five to six equal balls and roll out each ball into a flat chappati of three millimeter thickness.

Step 2

Cut into diamond-shaped pieces with a pastry cutter or knife. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry over medium heat till brown and crisp. Drain onto an absorbent paper and when cool, store in airtight containers.
