Ingredients list for Shankerpali

  • 1 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup Refined flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 4 teaspoon Butter
  • to taste Salt
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Mix atta, maida, sugar, butter and salt with a little water and knead into a soft dough. Keep it covered with a damp cloth for half an hour. Divide the dough into five to six equal balls and roll out each ball into a flat chappati of three millimeter thickness.
  2. Cut into diamond-shaped pieces with a pastry cutter or knife. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry over medium heat till brown and crisp. Drain onto an absorbent paper and when cool, store in airtight containers.
